Street Twinning (so far streets in Sheffield, Esteli and Melbourne)

Street twinning is like town twinning but on a much more intimate scale. Residents of three places get to know each other by organising events such as street parties, exchanging greetings and gifts. The twinning of Freedom Rd in Sheffield, the barrio Monte Sinai in Esteli in Nicaragua, and Dundas Place in Melbourne, Australia started in 2006 with workshops, fundraising events and street parties in all three places on 10 June.
