NSCAG works in solidarity with trade unions here and in
Nicaragua and occasionally campaigns on other areas such as the 2006
elections in Nicaragua.
Work with Trade Unions

Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign (and then NSCAG) has worked with trade unions both in the UK and in
Nicaragua since the time of the Revolution in 1979. The current focus of our
work is the Youth Unionists Project linking young unionists in the UK
and Nicaragua whilst the 2004 Trade Union Dayschool flagged up the dangers of DR - CAFTA for Central American workers.
Both areas of work, and the 2004 Delegation to Nicaragua,
emphasise the continuing importance of solidarity including links between
sister unions. Examples are the NUT with ANDEN (Nicaraguan
teachers' union), UNISON with UNE (public service union)
and FETSALUD ( health workers' union), and CWU with FESC (communications
union).
